Zuckerman Spaeder Named to The National Law Journal's 2016 Midsize Hot List
Zuckerman Spaeder LLP has been named by The National Law Journal to its Midsize Hot List, an annual recognition of distinguished U.S. law firms. According to The National Law Journal, the 2016 Midsize Hot List represents firms with 51 to 150 attorneys that “have held their own, often against much larger firms, charting winning courses in high-stakes matters that led to key victories in 2015. Above all, these firms embody lawyering at its essence — working hard to understand and serve their clients' needs.” This marks the sixth time in the last seven years that the firm has achieved this honor.
In its profile of the firm, The National Law Journal noted, “Over the past year, Zuckerman Spaeder has been busy at work on high-profile disputes, while evolving.”
“We have so many talented lawyers doing exceptional work on so many meaningful cases. We’re pleased that these efforts are being recognized yet again by The National Law Journal,” said chairman Dwight Bostwick.
The publication singled out recent cases as part of the basis for the firm’s inclusion in the Midsize Hot List, including the high-profile defense of former Massey Energy CEO Donald Blankenship, who was acquitted of all but one misdemeanor charge, and the defense of former Dewey & Leboeuf employee Zachary Warren, who in 2016 had all conspiracy and fraud charges against him dropped.
“The breadth and depth of our ongoing work is extraordinary,” Bostwick said. “Few firms of any size successfully represent, in one year, victims of terrorism in a billion-dollar settlement, CEOs and CFOs in groundbreaking criminal and regulatory investigations and trials, health care providers and patients in successful civil litigation against major insurance companies, former NFL players in the concussion litigation, victims of sexual abuse against the Mormon Church, top law firms accused of malpractice, and major companies in a range of civil litigation and SEC enforcement matters.”
“It takes a unique environment and a special group of lawyers to have this level of success year after year. We don’t take it for granted and neither do our clients.”
